Drivers for Compaq V3749AU laptop for Windows XP
Compaq Presario V3749AU is powered by AMB turion 64 bit processor. It has 2GB DDR2 RAM and it comes pre installed with Winodows Vista Home Basic. It has 160GB SATA hard disk. It also has a 14.1″ WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display. Laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M graphics card. Most of the Compaq Presario laptops comes with vista pre installed. And HP compaq does not support windows XP anymore. So if you have downgraded your laptop, it is really difficult for finding drivers. We have solved the issue for you. This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.

Restart the Notebook after installing the UAA drivers, then install the audio and modem drivers
Audio:

This will create a swsetup folder in c drive ("C:\swsetup\sp36408")
Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp36408 folder and the double click the folder. Select the .inf file, click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
Similarly install Modem Drivers:
Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP drivers:

1.Right click on "Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
2. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
3. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
4. Click Next and then select "Modem" from the list.
5. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
6. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp33890 folder and select the .inf file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

1. Open Device Manager and right click "Ethernet controller" and select update driver.
2. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
3. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install".
4. Click Next and then select "Network Adapters" from the list.
5. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
6. Click Browse, Choose the location where you have saved the extracted folder.
7. Open the folder "Ethernet" and choose the .inf file listed.
8. Ignore any errorrs you receive and proceed with the installation.
