Project Title: Feasibility Study on Zyxware Commission Agents
Project Description: The project, in line with our mission of enabling people to leverage on Information Technology, proposes to set up IT Touch Points across the district of Trivandrum, Kerala.
These IT Touch Points will be primarily channels for the following:
1. Consultancy on IT Hardware and Sales of IT Hardware
2. Delivery of IT Training Programmes (Basic Computer Skills, Web Site Development, Design Tools, Office Productivity Tools)
The background to the project is as follows:
As per Census 2011, desktop penetration in Kerala is only 9.5 percentage. Based on this data, it is safe to assume that IT penetration in Kerala is very much below optimal levels.
The barriers to deepening of IT Penetration in our view are:
1. Cost
2. Insufficient information on IT Hardware Products and Prices
3. Lack of knowledge on operating computers
4. Insufficient IT skills and consequent inability to exploit economic opportunities
The proposed project of IT Touch Points is an attempt to address 2, 3 and 4.
The market research intern is expected to do the following:
1. Test the hypothesis on barriers to entry in a scientific manner and generate valuable insights
2. Contribute to Project Design
3. Identify potential partners for establishing IT Touch Points based on study
The Market Research would involve a detailed study involving primary data collection.
Desired candidate profile:
The intern should have competency in the following:

Project Title : Web Application Development Services Off-shoring
Project Description:In order to leverage on our Web Application Development capabilities we are exploring the possibility of a Web Application Development Services Off-shoring model based on partnerships with other Web Application Development Companies based in USA or Europe. The essential model that we have in mind is one where we offer our competent Web Application Developers and Testers to existing Web Application Development Houses in USA or Europe to augment their existing resources. This offers the partner the opportunity to accelerate their growth plans and save on expenditure. At the same time, we gain from improving utilisation of our Web Application Development capabilities.
We are looking for a marketing intern who can help us shape this strategy. This entails doing a demand assessment, identifying feasible models of engagement, and developing an understanding of pricing.

Project Title : Training Plan Development
Project Description: We are looking to aggressively grow our Web Application Development operations over the next three years. This involves hiring and training a mix of freshers and programmers/testers with experience. So far, as our pace of growth was slow, our training primarily involved an initial session on Web Application Development and then close mentoring by a Senior Software Engineer. Subsequent skill development was primarily on the job. However, this model is no longer optimal. While the one on one interaction gives the opportunity to a developer to learn through a strong engagement, this was very unstructured leading to very uneven capability development. Also, the 'curriculum' was determined by the set of projects that each developer was involved. This meant that comprehensive and wide range capability development was difficult to achieve. Additionally, learning that occurred in an on the job scenario meant that there was inadequate commitment to processes, lack of comprehensive understanding of IT solution offering, lack of higher order conceptual clarity etc. The learning was more determined by the here and now.
Given this, and our objective of raising the bar on quality, we are looking to develop a Training Plan which would take us closer to the objective of comprehensive professional development. We are looking for an intern to help us develop a training plan.

Project Description: We are looking for an intern who can undertake a detailed costing exercise for our Web Application Development Operations. As a software company, it is important for us to understand our cost structures and bench mark ourselves against comparable companies in the industry. This would also help us in our pricing decisions.
