Industrial Interactive Program for Diploma Engineers of Central Polytechnic College Students, Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 2012
Zyxware Technologies have successfully done industrial training for 28 students of Semester 5, Computer Engineering Students of Central Polytechnic College, Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram. The objective of the training was to make the students familiar about the different departments and process in Zyxware Technologies and also equip the students with the fast growing developments in the field of Engineering and Technology.
The training was spread across in 5 days from August 6, 2012 to August 10, 2012. For convenience, the students were divided into two batches, morning batch from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and evening batch from 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m.
Day 1 started with basic Induction about Zyxware Technologies by Manager – HR. The session helped the students to understand the Company's vision, mission, values and about various departments. The second session on Project Management was handled by General Manager – Software Operations. The various stages of Software Development Life Cycle were explained to the students. Also the different models were illustrated. The session was highly interactive to equip the students knowledge on various process involved in Project Management.
The second day was devoted to the Software Development Team. A Software Engineer addressed on the web technologies and 'Drupal', the technology used by Zyxware Technologies. The basic awareness of Content Management Framework and advantages of Drupal was explained to the students. The second session was on the importance of Search Engine Optimization by Web Marketing Group. The basics of working of search engines and tips on optimizing them was discussed. Also the practical ideas for students to be be kept in mind while optimizing a page to be ranked top was shared with them.
The Software Testing Team handled the third day. The basics of Software Testing was shared by the Project/ Test Lead. Also the importance of testing, stages of Software Testing Life Cycle was explained by Software Testers. The second session on day 3 was utilized to answer the students query on tips to get a good placement, skills required to clear interview, group discussions etc. was shared by Manger – HR. Also a group discussion was carried out during the session.
The fourth day of the training was handled by Hardware Department. The different services offered by Hardware Department was explained to the students by the Manager – IT Infrastructure Solution. Also the computer engineering students were demonstrated with the various hardware used in Computer. The process of web hosting and domain registration was done in the second session.
The final day of training was engaged by Chief Executive Officer, Zyxware Technologies. The importance of Entrepreneur and the was shared by him. Also the industry expectation of the freshers was explained to the budding engineers. The second session on the last day was the evaluation session. To access the performance of each student, the exam was conducted based on the points shared during the interactive session. Feedback by students on the outcome of the industrial training was also shared with the company officials. For the academic requirement, assessment on various parameters like attendance, quality of report prepared, evaluation test and also performance during the interactive session was shared to the faculty.
It was really a cherishing moment for Zyxware Technologies to contribute back to the society we are in. As we see the happy faces of young budding talents upgrading their knowledge and awareness about Software process, we are sure that YOUTH of INDIA will definitely make our nation shine much before the year 2020.
