Zyxware and ILUG Trivandrum joins hands for Mandriva Linux Install Fest
Zyxware Technologies joins hands with GNU/Linux Users Group Trivandrum (ilug-tvm), SPACE-Kerala and FSF India to bring to the public the second GNU/Linux Install fest in Trivandrum in the last 3 months. This time the event is arranged to coincide with the Worldwide Mandriva Linux Install Fest so as to pledge our cooperation with the Mandriva Community. The event is arranged for the 14th of June 2008 at Cotton Hill Lower Primary School, Vazhuthacaud.
The first GNU/Linux install fest in Kerala that we had conducted was a massive success in terms of reaching out to the public and spreading the message of Free Software. This time we have put in effort in spreading the message to the public schools in the city and expect reasonably good turn out at the event.
We will be offering to install Mandriva, IT@School, Fedora or Ubuntu as options for people who bring in their computers to the fest. In addition people can sign up to get GNU/Linux Installed on their computers at their homes. ILUG Trivandrum will be charging a token fees for home installations and this amount will go towards arranging similar events and promoting free software. You can read more about the install fest at the website of GNU/Linux Users Group Trivandrum.
