Zyxware becomes partner for Diaspora Yatra
Zyxware Technologies is a partner for the ongoing Diaspora Yatra, a country-wide campaign that seeks to promote Diaspora and privacy in digital communications. If you are an ardent advocate of digital freedom, you probably can't give it a miss!
Diaspora is a nonprofit, user-owned, distributed social network based on the free, open, and decentralized Diaspora software, and essentially comprises a group of independently owned nodes, known as pods, which interoperate to constitute the network. As per the statistics, as of March 2014, Diaspora has more than 1 million accounts. Diaspora is not owned by a person or entity and therefore is not subject to advertising or corporate acquisition.
Diaspora Yatra, initiated by the Indian Pirates with eight partner organizations, has covered four districts in Kerala. As one of the notable partners for the campaign, Zyxware has already organized talks in Trivandrum, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki and is planning to conduct programs in Kannur and Kasaragod as well. Sooraj Kenoth, Consultant- IT, Zyxware Technologies, is one of the key organizers of the campaign.
The campaign, intended to promote Diaspora and to achieve self-reliance in communication technology, took off last week and is expected to continue until March 6, 2015. As part of the campaign, Diaspora users and privacy proponents in the country reach out to schools, colleges, and organizations and engage in debates, talks, workshops, and constructive discussions on the need to protect privacy and freedom in our digital communications.
