Meego 1.0 ia32 Netbook DVD release provides developers with a stable core foundation for application development and a rich user experience for Netbooks. The MeeGo Netbook user experience is the first to appear, with the development of the MeeGo Handset user experience moving to the open in June.
About Meego
MeeGo is a Linux distribution specifically designed for netbooks and handheld devices, with an emphasis on enjoying media, social networks and the internet in general. It's a collaboration between Intel and Nokia, under the umbrella of the Linux foundation. Both companies merged their previous distributions, Moblin and Maemo, into MeeGo. It is quite similar to Moblin, but uses Qt as its main user interface framework. Other interesting changes are BTRFS as default file system, and Google Chrome (or Chromium) as default browser. The previously used browser was Mozilla based. More details are mentioned in the release notes. Please visit the link for further details: http://meego.com/downloads/releases/1.0/meego-v1.0-netbooks
