NuTyX Attapu is a French desktop Linux distribution based on Gentoo Linux, but using binary software packages. This release no longer has a year-based version number; from now on, all future NuTyX releases will be named after provinces of Laos, a country in south-east Asia. From a technical point of view, the biggest change compared to the 2010 release series is that NuTyX now comes in the form of a live CD (with Xfce 4.6.2) and a live DVD (with KDE 4.5.1) and a graphical system installer. The binary packages are now compressed with LZMA which allows for faster downloads.
