Sabayon 5.1 is based on new GCC 4.4.1 and Glibc 2.10,which is shipped with Desktop-optimized Linux kernel 2.6.31 (ready for 2.6.32), It Provides extra Server-optimized and OpenVZ-enabled kernels in repositories. Installer is now available in multiple languages. It has a complete Ext4 file system support (used by default) and encrypted filesystems support (via dmcrypt, available in the Installer) featuring X.Org 7.5 and up-to-date FLOSS, NVIDIA, AMD video drivers.
It has an outstanding 3D desktop applications (Compiz, Compiz Fusion and KWin) working out of the box, it brings entropy framework (Package Manager) 0.99.19.1, It is shipped with OpenOffice 3.1 productivity suite, Multimedia applications ,it transforms Sabayon into an full-featured HTPC Operating System (Media Center) using XBMC, shipped with World of Goo Demo, Try it out from Windows, just kick the DVD in and use Sabayon via QEMU virtualization!
