Automating Job Postings on Social Media with No-Code Tools & Drupal

| | 2 min read

In our previous case study, we showcased the potential of no-code tools and Generative AI for automating social media content creation for large events. Here is another practical application: automating job postings on social media directly from a Drupal-powered website.

The Use Case: TheDropTimes' Automated Job Posting

TheDropTimes, a dedicated Drupal news and resources portal, features a job section regularly updated with new openings on Drupal across the world. Initially, their workflow involved manually creating and posting each new job listing on their LinkedIn page. It was a time-consuming task and as the number of job posts increases, it soon started affecting the productivity. Our goal was to streamline this process, ensuring real-time updates on social media whenever a new job is added to the website.

The Automation Flow

Image Generation with HTMLCSStoImage

HTML CSS to Image

To create engaging social media posts, we opted for images along with text. While Drupal offers image generation capabilities, we needed a faster, code-free solution. We decided to go with HTMLCSStoImage, a no-code tool that generates images from structured data and HTML/CSS templates. We designed templates on HTMLCSStoImage and used its API to generate an image for each job post upon saving.

Job Feed Creation

Leveraging Drupal's structured data capabilities and Views module, we were able to generate a job feed containing all necessary information, including the generated image URLs.

Connecting the Dots with Make

Make Social Media

Make (formerly Integromat) served as our no-code integration platform. We set up a scenario to monitor the job feed for new content and automatically post it to LinkedIn, complete with the image and relevant text extracted from the feed.

Highlights

No-Code/Low-Code Agility: The entire system was implemented and tested rapidly, allowing for a swift launch and experimentation with various image templates to gauge engagement. This no-code approach also provides the flexibility to transition to an on-premise Drupal implementation later if needed.

Business Impact: Real-time social media updates have resulted in increased engagement, attracting more followers and interactions on TheDropTimes' LinkedIn page.

Beyond Job Listings

The principles behind this automation can be applied to various content types, including:

  • Blog post summaries with featured images
  • Event announcements with visuals
  • Product promotions with dynamic graphics
  • News updates with relevant imagery

Conclusion

This case study demonstrates how no-code automation and APIs can empower businesses to optimize their social media presence. By eliminating manual tasks, enhancing visual appeal, and ensuring real-time updates, TheDropTimes has successfully streamlined their jobs directory and job posting process and boosted engagement on LinkedIn.
