ClearOS 6.2 "Enterprise" edition is a network and gateway server designed for small organizations and distributed environments, based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2. The latest ClearOS release is built on source code from a prominent North American Linux vendor. This upstream vendor released their 6.2 update earlier this month and we quickly followed suit. For the curious, you can find more information on ClearOS version numbering here. Along with the release of more than a dozen new applications, this release continues the process of creating a stable base system - installer, RPM packages, users, groups, system tools, LDAP, network, firewall, framework, and Marketplace.

Zenwalk Linux 7.0 "Core" edition is a minimalist, but extensible distribution based on Slackware Linux. Zenwalk Core 7.0 is ready. Zenwalk Core 7.0 is the base foundation of Zenwalk - everything except the X server and desktop environment. Installation process takes about 10 minutes and then you are free to install just the packages you need to create your very own desktop environment or your highly optimized and secured server. Zenwalk Core features the 2.6.37.4 kernel with BFS scheduler, KMS and many performance tweaks. Two kernels are available - the standard one supporting SATA or PATA disks, and a bigger kernel supporting any disk technology from SATA to SCSI. Note: the next version of Zenwalk Core will most probably be included in Zenwalk Standard edition as an installation option.

Zenwalk Linux 7.0 is a Slackware-based desktop distribution featuring the new Xfce 4.8 desktop. Zenwalk Linux 7.0 is available for immediate download. Still desktop, Internet and multimedia oriented, Zenwalk 7.0 is a milestone in the evolution of the distribution. This release brings several major changes at user level and system level. At user level, the Xfce desktop environment has been updated to major version 4.8.1, coming with a new VFS, Xfce 4.8 allows CIFS and SFTP shares browsing through the file manager, making it mostly feature equivalent to GNOME while still a lot faster. The new panel has good support for transparency, and is packaged with many plugins out of the box. We are pleased to announce that OpenOffice.org will be replaced by LibreOffice.

Salix OS 13.37 x86_64 KDE CD provides you the best of KDE Desktop, which can be used only with 64bit PCs. Salix OS 13.37 "KDE" edition is a Slackware-based desktop distribution. This release includes KDE 4.5.5, the same as in Slackware 13.37. One major difference since our previous release is the inclusion of the Mozilla Firefox 5.0 web browser in place of Konqueror. We believe that Firefox has improved a lot with its latest releases and provides a better web experience compared to Konqueror. However, if any users want Konqueror back, they only have to install the 'kdebase' package using the package manager, replacing the default kdebase-lite package. Another important change is the switch from Kaffeine to Bangarang as the default media player.
About Salix OS
Salix OS is a Slackware-based Linux distribution that is simple, fast, easy to use and compatible with Slackware Linux.
