Unity Linux i586 CD is the second alpha release of Unity Linux 2011, a minimalist, but highly customisable distribution based on Mandriva Linux. The 2011 alpha 2 release provides a few big updates to core packages, but the emphasis on the 2011 release continues to be maintaining stability during structural changes that will accommodate a move toward Mandriva repositories. This release shows our new aim which is to provide JEOS (Just Enough Operating System) to give users a core to build upon. The Unity developers are aiming for an Arch-Linux-Like approach to things with future releases.
About Unity Linux
The community-oriented Unity Linux is a minimalist distribution and live CD based on Mandriva Linux. The project's main goal is to create a base operating system from which more complete, user-oriented distribution can easily be built - either by other distribution projects or by the users themselves. Unity Linux uses Openbox as the default window manager. Its package management is handled via Smart and RPM 5 which can download and install additional software packages from the project's online repository.

antiX M11 is a lightweight offshoot of MEPIS Linux designed to run on computers with as little as 64 MB of RAM. This release defaults to a fully customised IceWM Rox desktop (Fluxbox, wmii and dwm are also installed) using a SimplyMEPIS 2.6.36 kernel, and the usual range of applications for desktop use. Latest Iceape (2.0.13) for Internet needs, AbiWord (2.8.6) and Gnumeric (1.10.14) for office use, GMMP and Goggles music manager (0.12.1) for audio, gxine, MPlayer and GNOME MPlayer for video.
About antiX
antiX is a fast, lightweight and easy-to-install linux live CD distribution based on MEPIS and Debian's testing branch for Intel/AMD x86-compatible systems. antiX offers users the "Magic of MEPIS" in an environment suitable for old computers. The goal of antiX is to provide a light, but fully functional and flexible free operating system for both newcomers and experienced users of Linux. It should run on most computers, ranging from 64 MB PII systems with a pre-configured 128 MB swap partition to the latest powerful boxes. 128 MB RAM is the recommended minimum for antiX while the installer needs a minimum of 2.2 GB hard disk space. antiX can also be used as a fast-booting rescue CD.

FreeBSD 9.0 RC3 CD is the third release candidate for FreeBSD 9.0. The third and what should be final release candidate build for the 9.0-RELEASE release cycle is now available. This should be the last of the test builds. The location of the FTP install tree and ISO images is the same as it has been for BETA2, BETA3, RC1 and RC2. The layout to a large degree is being dictated by the new build infrastructure and installer. But it's not particularly well-suited to humans so I've added a shorter pathway to the ISO images.
About FreeBSD
FreeBSD is a UNIX-like operating system for the i386, amd64, IA-64, arm, MIPS, powerpc, ppc64, PC-98 and UltraSPARC platforms based on U.C. Berkeley's "4.4BSD-Lite" release, with some "4.4BSD-Lite2" enhancements. It is also based indirectly on William Jolitz's port of U.C. Berkeley's "Net/2" to the i386, known as "386BSD", though very little of the 386BSD code remains. FreeBSD is used by companies, Internet Service Providers, researchers, computer professionals, students and home users all over the world in their work, education and recreation. FreeBSD comes with over 20,000 packages (pre-compiled software that is bundled for easy installation), covering a wide range of areas: from server software, databases and web servers, to desktop software, games, web browsers and business software - all free and easy to install.

TinyMe Linux, a mini-distribution based on Unity Linux, is available for download and testing. TinyMe 'Acorn' i586 release candidate 2010.08.20 has made its way into the world! Previous issues forced a do-over, using the Unity 2010.1 i586 release as a starting point. The versioning scheme switched to a date-based system. Gzip compression is used on the LiveCD instead of LZMA. Although TinyMe comes as a small, 250 MB ISO image, it provides tools for most every-day wants and needs: Linux kernel 2.6.33.6, SLiM logs you in, DeadBeef audio player, AbiWord word processor, Midori web browser. Openbox is the session and window manager, Nitrogen manages the wallpaper, and LXPanel provides the panel.
About TinyMe
TinyMe is a Unity Linux-based mini-distribution. It exists to ease installation of Unity Linux on older computers, to provide a minimal installation for developers, and to deliver a fast Linux installation for where only the bare essentials are needed.
